Recall of students of the School of Public Health named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov who studied on academic mobility in Lithuania (Kaunas)

In November 2017 at the School of Public Health named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov was held a competition for academic mobility in Lithuania for a period of two months (December-January) where students with high English proficiency could take part in. Five of us took part in the competition: three students of the 5th year Bigazinov Alima, Orazumbekova Binur and Zhumanbaeva Dinara, a fourth-year student Akhmetkalieva Altynai and a third-year student Tlenova Sabina. We have been studied at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Kaunas), specializing in Public Health.

In two months of training, we have studied many disciplines on Public Health, such as Environmental and social medicine, the Basics of Preventive Medicine, the Organization of Scientific Research and several others. We really liked the whole process of studying, because we studied with students from different countries of the world, exchanged knowledge and just found new friends and good acquaintances. We were delighted that this was also an opportunity to show our knowledge which were gained in KazNMU, because according to many teachers our students were always among the best. During this short time, we showed excellent academic performance, which greatly increased our level of English proficiency, despite the fact that in Kazakhstan we studied in Kazakh and Russian. We listened to the lectures of the best professors in our field, and also were involved in the study of various cutting-edge scientific projects and articles that undoubtedly inspired us with ideas for improving the healthcare system. Therefore in the end all of us successfully passed the exams.

We are very pleased that our university provides such an opportunity for students to study abroad, thereby not only learning more about their profession, but also developing themselves comprehensively in a new country, learning about their culture and strengthening interethnic ties. We express our gratitude to the Rector of KazNMU named after Asfendiyarov Nurgozhin T.S., the Dean of the School of Public Health named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov Davletov K.K. and the government of the university for the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and knowledge in the field of Public Health, as well as to be the face of the university, having demonstrated the level of knowledge of our students abroad.
