The 90th Anniversary of the Birth of Alikhan Chokin

 

21 May 2015 hosted a scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth Alikhan Chokin.

In 1945 A.R. Chokin entered the medical faculty of the Almaty State Medical Institute. Successfully completing it, he entered the post-graduate course. Since 1952 A.R. Chokin – assistant, then associate professor. In 1958 he defended his dissertation “The main stages in the development of sanitary-epidemiological service in Kazakhstan.” The same theme was dedicated to his doctoral dissertation (1967). He was professor since 1968 year. From 1969 to 1988 he headed the newly established chair of the history of medicine, and from 1988 to 1992 becamethe head of department the social hygiene and public health system with the course of history of medicine, from 1993 to 1996 – professor of the Department of Social Medicine and Public Health Management and history of medicine. Merits of A.R. Chokin were worthy evaluated by two Orders” Patriotic War” I degree, order “Badge of Honor”, badge “From health-brim”, Honor document of Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR and medals.
