d.m.s., professor Toguzbaeva Karlygash Kabdeshevna, 1971 graduated from the sanitary-hygienic faculty of KSMI. After graduation from 1971 to 1975 worked as the chief state sanitary doctor in the Karasu district of the Kustanai region. From 1975 to 1985 worked at the Karaganda State Medical Institute at the Department of General Hygiene, started working as a resident, then senior laboratory assistant, research intern, assistant professor, then as an assistant. In the same years, Toguzbaev K.K. graduated from postgraduate study and successfully defended in 1983 candidate of science thesis. In October 1985 by the invitation of the Institute of Regional Pathology of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR, she moved to Almaty and was elected to the position of senior researcher. In January 1986 by the invitation of the Almaty State Institute of Advanced Medical Studies of the USSR Ministry of Health, she was transferred to the post of assistant professor of general hygiene. On June 1, 1992, she organized and opened the Department of Occupational Health and Food Hygiene at the Almaty State Medical Institute at the newly created Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty. In 1996 successfully defended her doctoral dissertation “Medical and biological features and prevention of pneumoconiosis caused by dust, coals of various brands (for example, the Karaganda coal basin).” In 1997 she was awarded the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan academic title of professor. Currently K.K. Toguzbaeva is the head of the course of preventive medicine at the Department of Nutrition.

She was a primary investigator for Scientific technical projects: University grant “Medical and social aspects of risk factors of occupational environment”, Ministry of Education and Science grant “Scientific justification of a comprehensive solution to the social, hygienic and medical problems of the health of the rural population of the Republic of Kazakhstan” from April 2012. to December 2014 with financing of 60 million tenge. In 2012 she won a grant from European Commission «TEMPUS» (2012-2015 with financing 90 thousand euro). In 2016 she won 3 grant, financed by European Commission: 1) Erasmus Plus 573640-EPP-1-2016-1-IT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JPTUTORIAI. «Strengthening Networkin Education, Research and Innovation in Environmental Health in Asia» (TUTORIAL) 2016-2019 project on development of Master degree program on Occupational and Environmental health with financing 75 thousand euro 2) Erasmus plus Key Action 1, Academic mobility with University of Tartu 2016-2019 with financing of 20 thousand euro 3) Erasmus plus Key Action 1, Academic mobility with University of Tartu 2018-2020 with financing of 20 thousand euro. Professor Toguzbaeva K. is a coordinator for above listed projects at KazNMU.

Professor Toguzbaeva K.K. is the coordinator and initiator of several international agreements on scientific and practical cooperation of S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU with the Higher School of Medicine at the International University of Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek); European Academy of Natural Sciences (Hanover, Germany); Yerevan State Medical University named after M. Heratsi. In the framework of international cooperation, department had visiting professors from partner Universities: Prof. Claudio Colosio, Prof. Federico Mario Rubino, Prof. Angelo Moretti (Italy), Prof. Chandran Achutan (Nebraska USA) prof. Vincent O, Brown, Prof. IenConnari (Great Britain), Prof. ArtashesTadovesyan (Armenia), Prof. Jusupov K.O. (Kyrgyzstan); Ramin Tabibi (Iran); These partners also took part in the implementation of the joint scientific-technical projects of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Scientific comprehensive solution of social, hygienic and medical problems of health of the rural population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

She is the author and co-author of more than 300 scientific articles, 1 article with a high Impact factor – 3.95, published in the USA, and 7 articles with a non-zero Impact factor, educational and methodical works, including a number of monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, as well as guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health.

On 16 of May 2018 the Center “Innovations in education and research in the field of occupational health and the environment” was created on the basis of the department by the decision of the scientific council and the order of the rector. The project coordinator for Kazakhstan and KazNMU is prof. Toguzbaeva. The Center was opened as part of the CANERIEH and Tutorial projects and with financial support from the European Commission. The Center consist of electronic laboratory equipped with a computer class for distance learning, equipment for sanitary and hygienic research, acquired in Italy. The total cost of the equipment is 90,000 Euro.

The Center at KazNMU has opened more opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the field of education, research and innovation in the field of environmental health in Asia. An example of such an opportunity is the introduction of a blended learning method, which provides the student with the opportunity to acquire knowledge independently online, as well as in person with the teacher, which has a positive effect on training. Moreover, students and teachers can participate in academic exchange programs. So, from 2012 to 2018, 10 members of the KazNMU project team were trained in partner countries at universities of Milan, Tartu and the Technical University of Berlin, Gothenburg Sweden, mastering new approaches and methods for studying environmental problems and occupational health.

Center has a plan for educational work until 2021. Among the specific objectives of the project is to improve the professional competence of university teachers in various fields of public health, environmental and occupational health by introducing new innovative pedagogical methods and mechanisms to ensure the quality of master’s programs developed together with European universities. Creation of electronic laboratories, as well as e-learning systems to improve the quality of student learning, with the goal of digitalization. There main goal is improving training system for future specialists. This center is created so that all department of KazNMU can use it. Today, within the framework of the Center’s work, KazNMU partners are almost 20 universities from different countries.

A lot of goals were achieved in the framework of Tempus (CANERIEH), Erasmus+ Tutorial, which have lead to development of new goals that are being implemented. For instance from 2013 to 2016 40 faculty participated in English language courses organized in framework of Erasmus Plus project.

20-23.05.2019 professor Toguzbaeva K. Organized and conducted international educational and scientific conference «Erasmus Plus TUTOTRIAL. Strengthening Network in Education, Research and Innovation in Environmental Health in Asia» with participation of Educational and Central Asian partners.

Scientific activity

In 2010 she defended her thesis on the topic: “Physical development of schoolchildren of innovative schools in Almaty”, specialty 14.00.07 – Hygiene. The materials of the dissertation were presented at international and national scientific and practical conferences and congresses.

Participated in the organization of scientific conferences, meetings, seminars. Actively engaged in research work with students. Under her leadership, students participate in international and national scientific conferences, and there were prize-winners. Has multiple publications with students.

Grants: She participated in the Grant Program of Technical Assistance to the Commonwealth of Independent States (TACIS) of the European Union, in cooperation with the Netherlands Red Cross and the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan – “Development of public awareness on environmental issues in schools and communities of Almaty.”

She is also participating in Erasmus Plus program 573640-EPP-1-2016-1-IT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JPTUTORIAI. “Strengthening the Network of Innovations, Education and Science in Occupational and Environmental Health in Asia Strengthening Networkin Education, Researchand Innovationin Environmental Healthin Asia” (TUTORIAL) three-year project to develop a master’s program in occupational health and environmental health 2016-2020.

Scientific publications. Has 80 publications: articles, abstracts, reports, guidelines and guidelines on the topic of research work.

After graduation on 2006-2007 worked as head laboratory assistant of the Occupational hygiene department. 2007-2015 worked as faculty at the same department, in 2015 became head teacher. Starting 2008 become head for academic affairs at the department. During this period Seyduvanova Laura developed her professional capacity. In 2015 entered the correspondence department in the Scientific and Production Association “Preventive Medicine” of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, specialty 14.02.01 «Hygiene», time of graduation 2018. Defended on 25 of April of 2019. Topic: Hygienic assessment of working conditions and the health status of general practitioners in the context of healthcare reform in the Republic of Kazakhstan (by example of Almaty).

Kusayinova Elmira Izbasarovna

Assistant

Started her carrier in 1987 at the multidisciplinary hospital of Raiymbek district of Almaty region. In 1989, she entered the sanitary-hygienic faculty of the Almaty State Medical Institute. After graduating from the university in 1995, he was accepted as an assistant to the department of infectious diseases with a course of epidemiology at the ASMI. 1998 was transferred to the post of teacher of the military department with a course of EMEP. In 2017, due to staff reductions and the merge of the departments, she was transferred to the post of teacher of the Department of Nutrition with a course of preventive medicine.

E.Khusayinova is the author and co-author of about 80 publications: articles, abstracts, reports, guidelines and guidelines on the topic of research work. She has presented more than 10 abstracts at various Republican, International conferences, Congresses and Symposiums.
